When I went through my initial spiritual awakening, I thought, “I have arrived! It’s all sunshine ☀️ and roses 🌹 from this point on.” Weeks passed and yet I wasn’t magically transported away from the stress of my corporate job. If anything, I became more disillusioned from it and confused. I felt like, “Why do I have to waste my time doing this nonsense now that I’ve experienced a transcendent blissful reality?” Silly me, I didn’t yet realize that spiritual awakening is not the end goal; it’s a starting point. Yes - a new world opens up to you. Suddenly you have higher awareness activating and you’re able to perceive your life in entirely different way. It’s a bit like puberty. Others may have tried to describe it to you before but you just didn’t get it. And then Boom! When it happens to you, your life is transformed. It’s overwhelming. You go through an awkward stage where you’re just trying to adjust to all these extra feelings and perceptions. You might try talking to your friends and family and they just look at you like, “What are you on?” Your senses are overloaded and you can bounce from the highest peaks to the lowest depths, moment by moment! It’s both exhilarating and exhausting. And yet you still have to pay the bills.
Back then, podcasts and YouTube didn’t exist. No one was talking about spirituality on tv or movies. Through meditation, I was feeling energy frequencies, traveling out of my body, and talking to Spirit Beings. It was a complete paradigm shift, and yet I only told a few people. I was terrified of being ridiculed and of never being taken seriously again. I also felt conflicted between the indescribable beauty and love I experienced in the spiritual realms in meditation in contrast to the ugliness of how some people treat each other, animals and the planet. I had no one to talk about these things. I wished I had a teacher or a guide. I didn’t know where to look. There’s a spiritual saying, “When the student is ready, the teacher will appear!” But that left me lost and stumbling along my spiritual path for a number of years before I finally found the metaphysical school Delphi and met some incredible teachers. There have been a number of spiritual mentors since. Although I have a strong bond to my own higher self and spirit guide, I still periodically need to seek out support from other practitioners.
Times have changed. Crystals, yoga centers and tarot card readers seem to be everywhere and social media allows almost anyone access to every spiritual concept in existence. What hasn’t changed is that we can all still benefit from a little personalized guidance and support on our path. I wouldn’t recommend looking for someone to tell you what to do or give you the answers. It’s important to develop your own connection to your higher self and your spirit guides. Everyone has this potential. You have your own deep knowing and higher wisdom that comes from your soul/higher self (whatever term you prefer.) No one is going to know what’s best for you better than your own divine self. However, others can hold space for your healing and provide a mirror for your blind spots. Just be careful to use a lot of discernment to find the right person or people you can trust. Use your intuition and gut instinct to guide you to the right people to work with.
I created the Awakening Soul program because many clients who were newly awakened on the spiritual path started asking for more support. As they say, the “veil is thinning,” meaning there is less separation between Spirit and Matter and higher frequencies are more accessible now. Whereas it used to take years of dedicated spiritual practice to experience an initiation, now people are experiencing rapid spiritual emergence, sometimes unintentionally through plant medicine or breathwork. You have to do the inner work to process what surfaces and to integrate these activations, otherwise things can go awry. A spiritual awakening can be extremely destabilizing. Your relationships, job, finances, even health can be affected as you transition from lower density to higher consciousness. An awakening is not a “one and done” experience. There’s a reason they call it a spiritual journey; there are many steps along the way. Create a regular spiritual practice - meditation, yoga, grounding, energy or breathwork. Your routine will stabilize and balance your activation. Make like-minded friends and community. Although the journey is endless, you don’t have to do it alone. 💟
