Finding Purpose with the Michael Newton Institute

Is there anyone alive who hasn’t at some point wondered, “Why am I here?” Oftentimes it’s a traumatic or unexpected major event such as death of a loved one, loss of a job, a natural disaster or a health issue that pushes us to look beyond the material world and seek deeper understanding through spiritual exploration.

Upon further reflection, I realize that this so-called existential crisis is perhaps a luxury not experienced by those who are forced to spend their days focused on survival. I remember in business school learning about Maslow’s Hierarchy theory, which outlined five levels of human motivation based on needs. Maslow believed that the lower level basic needs (like survival or safety) must be met before someone can address the higher level needs (like finding purpose.) Therefore it’s a privilege to even have the time or energy to question our existence!

Yet how many of us privileged people don’t actually make time to ponder our purpose because we don’t know where to find the answer? It’s easier to keep ourselves busy and distracted so that we don’t have to face the big, scary question looming in the back of our minds, “What’s the meaning of my life?”

My own existential crisis led me to read Michael Newton’s first book, “Journey of Souls”, which explored what happens when we die based on his case studies of Life Between Lives (LBL) hypnotic regression. It was an impactful book that launched my search for my soul’s purpose and inspired me to become LBL certified at his institute in 2010.

Life has a way of coming full circle. Since then I’ve had a client case study published in the Michael Newton Institute’s book, Wisdom of Souls (2019), and now another case study in their newly released book, Finding Purpose (2024). In these books you’ll find amazing stories of people whose Life Between Lives experiences helped them find meaning and hope.

If you’re feeling challenged by political uncertainty, natural disasters, wars and global challenges, try to set aside a little more time to go within. Reconnect to your purpose - the why behind what you do each day. If you’re seeking reassurance or needing to be reminded of the bigger picture, unplug from the calamity when you can and check out these books or any of the other Michael Newton books for inspiration. It helps to feed our psyche with soul wisdom instead of fear. 💙 Wishing you peace and purpose in these chaotic times!
